Round Two...

Of the horrible winter cold/flu that will never go away has made a retrun visit over the last week. All I have done is work, sleep and cough...blech! I finally feel good enough today to scrape myself off the couch and engage in an activity other than an America's Next Top Model marathon. While I have been a sicky, Bob has pre-occupied himself by doing some home improvement projects. We have a room off of our living room that one of the previous owners, probably in the 50's, added some built in bookshelves to. They were dark and not all of the trim matched so Bob fixed all of the trim and moldings and then painted them a nice, clean white...it brightens up the room so much! I don't have any before pics, but here are a couple of afters

My one and only New Year's resolution was to become more organized and to start using a calendar to keep track of things. I am usually pretty good about keeping mental lists, but I realized over the past few days of being couch-bound that there are gazillion things going on in the next few weeks. First off is CHA, I am going with some of the other girls from Craft Critique so we will be looking out for what is new and cool and will have articles up on all of the goodness. If there is a product you would like to know more on or are excited about, let us know so we can be on the look-out! After CHA Bob and I have tickets for a couple of concerts we are very, very excited about...the first is the New York Dolls, seriously, how cool is that going to be?!

Then in March we are going to see X again!

...a few weeks after that I am going to the Scrap Etc. Event in Nashville, I am super excited for this as there are several people I know going so it will be fun to catch up and scrap in real life vs. via the inter-web :) I have to catch up on my homework assignments for this though! Ugh, I feel like such a slacker as there were 3 during the holidays that just got pushed to the side because I was so busy.

Last but not least, we have tickets to see The Cure in May...they were supposed to be here in the fall but postponed. I haven't seen them since 1987...ack! I am so dating myself here

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week, I am off to finish my LO for the Milwaukee PugFest scrapbook page contest...remember if you have a rescue puggy you still have time to enter and win $250 for the rescue of your choice!

Martha- did you know this?

David Johansen: lead singer of the New York Dolls. When they broke up, he worked briefly solo before changing miraculously into Buster Poindexter and then morphing into a film star ("Scrooged," "Car 54, Where Are You?"). Got wise to himself and reformed the Dolls with surviving member Sylvain Sylvain.

I saw the movie New York Doll (about Arthur 'Killer' Kane).

Enjoy yourself!!!!!

hey cool about the Dolls. I actually know Sylvain. My husband and his buddy had a small record co here in Cleveland that released a CD for him in 1998. Got to know and tour a little w/ him. FUNNY guy with some very funny stories about some legends (deborah harry, etc) We even went to Chicago w/ him for some gigs. Glad David wised up and they got back together. Defining band for so many.

Did you know that Viggo (hottie extraordinaire) Mortensen was married to Exene Cervenka? Interesting trivia. I hope you liked it.

I saw The Cure years ago. Great music but not much stage presence. It's just my opinion, file it under 'useless' if you like! : )

Do you like Gene Loves Jezebel? I met them years ago, lovely accents (Welsh) and very nice guys.

The one guy I wished I'd always met was Adam Ant. He's working on new music so that's promising....

Anyway, have fun at your concerts!
