Oh my!

So yesterday started off a bit scary...Pixie came running down the stairs with something in her mouth as fast as she could. Both Bob and I tried to corner her under the table to get it from her, it looked like she had a used dryer sheet in her mouth. Just as one of us was about to reach for it *sluuuuurrp*, she sucked it right down and swallowed it! Pixie has been known to steal her share of scrapping scraps and nibble on them (as much as I try to stop her, pull them from her mouth etc.), but this really had me worried as I didn't know if it would hurt her :( The vet suggested hydrogen peroxide to get her to throw it up but that didn't work so to the vet we went...they couldn't get her to throw it up either so the remedy we came home with is...

I will let you all use your immagination for the rest of the story...anywho, she is snoozing away happy as can be and has even had the nerve to come nibbling around my paper scraps last night. I don't know why the words "cat lax" make me giggle, but they do.

On a happier note, here are some goodies I have picked up here recently.

A typewriter!!! Yay, I have been searching for one for a while and found one in a local antique store with a big ol' sale tag on it so of course I scooped it right up. It works great, but if someone has any info on where I can get ribbons it would be greatly appreciated :)

I also found a cute scale at the same shop

Some old patterns and vintage party favor cups

I went to Michaels to check out the new Martha Stewart Halloween stuff and came home with this cool metal sign...not MS but cool none the less.

The uber talented Holly gave me this pretty cool award...

Oooooh...a typewriter! I'm jealous. I've been looking for one FOREVER. The ones I find either don't work, or are freakin' EXPENSIVE! Bummer. Love those party favor cups too! You found some good finds!

Maybe my cat and Pixie should be friends. My cat eats all my paper scraps, hair ties, shoelaces, etc.

Cat Lax. Good grief! That must have been quite a day for you and Pixie! I'm glad she's okay : )

Hugo (my dog) takes no interest in paper but if you walk by his food bowl, he'll hover over it until you've left. I don't know how many times I tell him "Dude, I don't want your dog water...."

I got a Royal typewriter this past year and I, too was searching for ribbons. I took the old one out (if you have one) and went to Staples, where they have a universal ribbon that will probably work. As long as the disks match in size, you should be ok. BTW, stay away from ribbons with white out on them, whatta mess! You also might find one from the Royal website.

Also, I am out in Boston, not Chicago, but for those looking for a typewriter...if you have Craigslist, hop on there and do a search for typewriters. When I was looking, there was a ton!

my pug frank can only be in 2 rooms in our house, the kitchen and family room. he will eat anything and my boys have way too many legos.
